I have been saving all my blogging, waiting for something funny and interesting to entertain you with. Nothing. Nothing funny has happened at all. This is a crisis for me. I want to be humorous, to make people laugh, instead I am left with bringing you all down to our level of frustration and general bummer-ness. Okay, that is overstating it a little. You will still find me skipping down the street in shorts and flip flops in February, fighting the urge to put some sunshine blue sky and beach update on my facebook page!! Nothing can bring me down!! Mark is another story, poor guy has worked so hard on getting our porch project started only to be delayed by....drum roll please.......the f'n county. Florida has some ridiculous rules and regulations, let me tell you!We are trying to improve our little abode here in the sunshine state by building a screened in porch. Now, it will double our living space, but we only had 750sq ft to start with! So, being the rule followers that we are, we had an engineered drawing done (not cheap), brought it the county and then waited.
And waited.
And waited some more.
Finally heard back, denied. Not rejected completely, just had to provide more info. Change the drawings. So, back to the engineer, new plans made up, resubmitted. Waited, this time it didn't take too long to say...............NO. Denied again. More info needed. ARRRRRGGGGHHH!
Okay, regroup, print 40-11 million pages of installation instructions, Florida approval codes, and include a small package of toenail clippings from our whippets. The last part was something I read on the Internet. It said it would bring us luck in getting a permit in Florida. I guess it is like burying St. Joseph when you are trying to sell your house. I didn't ask, I just need some luck.
We dropped it off this morning at the f'n county (saying that makes me feel better somehow), and now we wait....................again.
Until next time,
Mullets out
